Day 1: Arrive Delhi, India

Arrive at Delhi's International Airport. After clearing customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, your FOOTSTEPS TO INDIA representative will meet you as you exit the arrivals terminal building and transfer you to hotel. Delhi is India's capital and a major gateway to the country. It is bustling metropolis, successfully combines in its folds – the ancient with the modern. Amidst the fast spiraling skyscrapers the remnants of a bygone time in the form of its many monuments stand as silent reminders to the region's ancient legacy. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 In Delhi

After breakfast, meet your guide in the lobby. Today, discover Delhi in all its majesty. Begin the tour with a visit to Old Delhi. Near the Red Fort, you trade vehicle for a bicycle rickshaw and weave through narrow lanes of colorful and bustling Chandni chowk. You will visit Raj Ghat, the serene and evocative memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi; 17th century Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India and Shah Jehan's architectural triumph. As a complete contrast to Old Delhi, New Delhi was designed and built by the British in the 1920's. You will visit two monuments from Delhi's past - Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar. Your drive takes you along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House and the Presidential residence. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur (258 km / 5 ½ Hours)

After breakfast at the hotel, drive towards Jaipur. The fabled "Pink City" of Jaipur is the vibrant, bustling and colorful capital of Rajasthan. The "pink" is derived from the rich hues of the architecture, constructed from rare colored sandstone. Jaipur is north India's finest example of planned city, laid strictly according to the ancient Indian treatise of town planning and architecture - the Shilpa Shastra. Structured in a nine-grid plan, it has City Palace in its centre, with mansions and markets emanating outward from this core. On arrival, check in your hotel. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 4 :In Jaipur

After breakfast, visit Amber Fort. Known for its artistic style, blending both Hindu Rajput elements, the fort has huge ramparts, a series of gates and cobbled paths, and overlooks a Maota lake. Most notable and the largest tourist attraction at the Amber fort is the 20 minute elephant ride up to the fort itself. The elephants are brightly painted with water colors which makes a festive and beautiful site. Your afternoon tour starts with a visit to the City Palace Museum, also visit the awe inspiring Jantar Mantar (an accurate observatory built in 1726 AD). Also included is a photo visit at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Later walk through the colorful bazaar of Jaipur. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 5: Jaipur - Agra (285 km / 6 Hours)

After breakfast, drive towards Agra. On the way you will visit Fatehpur Sikri - the deserted red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. After visit, continue your drive towards Agra. At the time of the Mughals, in the 16th & 17th centuries, Agra was the capital of the grand Mughal Empire. It came into prominence when a lavish patronage of Mughal rulers created forts, tombs, and palaces in red sandstone and marble inlaid with semi-precious stones. During this period the city became a leading centre of art, science, commerce and culture. The short golden age of Agra came to an end with the seventeenth century reign of Shah Jehan, mastermind of the Taj Mahal. On arrival, check in your hotel. Overnight in Agra.

Day 06: Agra

At sunrise, visit the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal, was built by an emperor Shahjahan in memory of his beloved queen. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631, and is believed to have taken 18 years to complete, with over 20,000 craftsmen working around the clock. After breakfast, day at leisure. Afternoon, visit the impressive Agra Fort, the seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire for successive generations.

Day 07: Agra – Jhansi ( By train Dep/Arrival: 0810 / 1025); Jhansi - Khajuraho via Orchha (170 KM / 04 HOUR)

After an early buffet breakfast at the hotel, our representative will transfer you to the Railway Station in time for your train to Jhansi. Our representative will meet you at the Jhansi Station; you will be driven from Jhansi railway station to Khajuraho en-route visiting Orchha, a city frozen in time. Place of interest in Orchha include the multi-tiered Jehangir Mahal & Ram Raja Temple, Laxminarain Temple. After your visit, continue your drive to Khajuraho. On arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel. In the realm of architecture, Khajuraho holds a unique position. The temples here were built between 950 and 1050 A.D. by the Chandela dynasty, who claims descent from the Moon God and a mortal, Hemavati, with whom the god fell in love. Although famous for erotic depictions, these form only a small part of the Wealth of the site. Overnight in Khajuraho

Day 08: Khajuraho

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Chandela Temple Complex. The tour of Khajuraho this morning concentrates on the famous erotic temples, which represent some of the finest examples of temple architecture in Northern India. Later day is free for explore the city by own. In the evening proceed for sound & light show at the temple complex. Overnight in Khajuraho

Day 09: Khajuraho – Varanasi (By Flight)

Post breakfast, morning at leisure. Our representative will meet you & transfer you to airport for your flight to Varanasi Upon arrival in Varanasi a FOOTSTEPS TO INDIA representative will meet you & transfer you to your hotel, and upon arrival check – in at your hotel, where remainder of the day will be at leisure. Varanasi, the 'eternal city', and Hinduism's most important city, located on the banks of the sacred River Ganges, has been the center of learning & civilization for over two thousand years. Evening proceed to witness the Aarti ceremony on Ganges. Overnight in Varanasi

Day 10:Varanasi

Very early in the morning you will taken for a boat ride along the bathing ghats on the Holy River Ganges. At sunrise the Hindu faithful flock to the river to cleanse themselves of their sins. To die in Varanasi is to end the Hindu cycle of re-birth, thereby making it a popular place to end one's life. After sunrise you will visit some of the temples in the surrounding area. Return to the hotel. After buffet breakfast at the hotel, visit "Bharat Kala Bhavan" which lies at the sprawling grounds of Banaras Hindu University. In the afternoon, you will proceed for an excursion to Sarnath, a major Buddhist center in the world. After achieving enlightenment at Bodhgaya, Buddha, the 'Awakened One', delivered his first sermon here. Overnight in Varanasi

Day 11: Varanasi – Delhi ( By flight)

Post breakfast, transfer to the airport to board the flight for Delhi. Upon arrival at Delhi board your onward destination flight.
